Natural Lites Candles, LLC was started in 2007.  Located in Northern New Jersey where soy candles are not very well known, they are one of the first to start spreading the word about the benefits of all natural soy wax candles.  They do internet sales, as well as at-home parties, fundraisers, wedding/shower/party favors, vendor shows, craft fairs, corporate gifts, gift baskets, wholesale to local retailers, etc.  Chris Romano manages the company on a day-to-day basis and gives each and every prized customer the one-on-one attention they deserve.

  1. What are some of the challenges you faced in your business and how did you overcome them?

    The only challenge we’ve really faced so far is costs for advertising.  When starting out, you have to get your name out there.  The high costs of advertising have really impacted our business’ profits, however we feel it’s worth it to advertise up front, because once we get a customer, we keep them for life!

     

  2. How did Candles of Eden assist you on the road to making your business successful?

    Candles of Eden has been amazing in their flexibility and willingness to work with us to design new products and to give us ideas on how to market the products. They truly give you that “one-on-one” attention that a small business like ours appreciates!  

  3. What piece of advice would you offer other businesses?

    Before beginning a business, be sure to research the soy candle competition in your geographical location so you know who you will be competing against for sales.  This way you can make solid decisions on which Candles of Eden products will sell best in your area, what the most popular scents are, and what prices will be competitive in your market.
